My favorite place on campus is Willis Library because of the memories from my undergrad which include staying up all night studying for a final, hanging out with friends on the 2nd floor, getting the original “Albino Squirrel” coffee from the Study after a tough week and taking naps in the basement.
My favorite place is the square because there is so much to do. From enjoying a cold dessert at Beth Marie’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream, to eating late at night at Dix Coney Island, listening to live bands at LSA while eating some delicious burgers and getting lost in a maze of books at Recycled Books. You can also count on there to be some kind of activity during any holiday, like the Day of the Dead Festival and the Holiday Lighting Festival.
Do not be afraid to venture out of your comfort zone. Go out there and network since that is how you are going to find opportunities available for you.
I am a DACA student who was born in a small border town in Mexico and went to school there until the third grade.
